Raised on the upper side of Manhattan, after high school, Gaga's mother convinced her to apply for CAP21, a musical theater conservatory, which is part of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Gaga dropped out, only completing a few semesters before she began performing at local nightclubs and focusing on her musical career full-time.
