Eerie Photographs of Sand Dunes in New York's Rockaways from Hurricane Sandy

Eerie Photographs of Sand Dunes in New York's Rockaways from Hurricane SandyAll photos by Stephane Missier

Photographer Stéphane Missier visited the Hurricane Sandy-stricken Jacob Riis Beach parking lot in the Rockaways and took these mesmerizing photos of sand dunes formed after the disaster. The site is off-limits to the public, making it a real success that he was able to get these in the first place. It's hard to believe that these exist in New York City. Read Missier's account of the experience of seeing and capturing these images on AnimalNewYork.
