Whether it is in his landscapes, portraits or large-scale abstractions, Raphael Hefti (born 1978 in Biel-Bienne, Switzerland) is pushing important aesthetic and conceptual boundaries in contemporary photography. In 2012, his solo projects included Inside the White Cube at the White Cube Project Space in Bermondsey, Thermit Welding at SALTS in Basel and Launching Rockets Never Gets Old at the Camden Arts Centre in London. Winner of last year's Swiss Art Award, he also had a two-person show with Dominique Figarella at Art:Concept in Paris and participated in the group exhibitions La jeunesse est un art at Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau, Minimal Myth at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Straight Up at Family Business in New York, Mocha non truth at Cul De Sac in London, and Du monde clos Ă l'univers infini at Le Quartier in Quimper, France.
