Takeshi Hirobe Architects designed Villa SSK in Tokyo Bay with the goal of making it a balanced, natural space between the mountains and ocean in the southern KantĹŤ region of Japan. It stays true to traditional Japanese architecture while incorporating newer ideas and futuristic design concepts. The clients wanted "a comfortable, generously proportioned living, dining and kitchen area, a bathroom overlooking the ocean, a guest room, and a spare room that could be used to display his beloved car," and Hirobe gave them all of that and much more.
