Sweden-based Gustav Almestål's food photography literally explodes onto the surfaces he chooses as his backdrops...but in good way. Simply put, he sees details and ideas to extract that others do not. Whether a simple pomegranate or a stick of butter, he gets the food to come alive. He shot these with food stylist Niklas Hansen for Dave Lane and Marina Tweed’s food magazine The Gourmand.
