The Shanghai World Financial Center, funded by more than 36 international companies, is a glass and metal structure with a trapezoidal hole at the top. The opening was added to ease wind load on the building. The building features the second highest elevated hotel in the world near the top, which has the 6-star Park Hyatt Shanghai.
