Marni Employs Ex-Prisoners For New Chair Collection

Debuting at Salone del Mobile 2012, Marni is debuting a collection of 100 chairs produced by former Colombian prison inmates. The project reaffirms the brand's commitment to charitable initiatives, seeking to provide aid in prisoner resettlement into social and working life.

The chairs are made of metal with multi-colored PVC threads, paying homage to to common seating forms in Colombia. Linked to the "L'Arte del Ritratto" project, the chairs have been documented by photographer and filmmaker Francesco Jodice, who has used them as backgrounds for a series of portraits of Marni teams in different departments.
