Marrio Sorrenti Photographs the Year's 20 Biggest Stars for W Magazine's "Best Performances"

If you went to the movies at all in 2011, you likely saw some of the year's best films. Drive took pop culture by storm with a throwback soundtrack and an inexplicably cool Ryan Gosling; The Descendents  showed George Clooney de-glamorized as a tired, overspent father with a rebellious daughter (Shaline Woodley); Brad Pitt starred in yet another smart movie, Moneyball; newcomer Rooney Mara was a fucked up, gritty badass in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo...and the list continues.

W Magazine's "Best Performances" features the actors and actresses, whose roles were most memorable this year, stripped down and off duty, with photographer Marrio Sorrenti giving the photos an old Hollywood glamor. [W Magazine]
