Kenny Scharf Garage: Pasadena Museum of California Art's Hidden Street Art Gem

We won't be offering a run down of the best Rose Bowl floats. However, we are going to celebrate a little Pasadena art history with a look at the Kenny Scharf Garage, a site specific mural installation at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. Painted in 2004 to complement the museum's first tri-level exhibition, Kenny Scharf: California Grown, the murals transform a non-descript parking space into a magical area known as the Kosmic Kavern.

Think of it as scene setting for RETNA's full museum take over this past year.

Click the thumbs to check it out. And, don't forget, Pasadena Museum of California Art made our list of 10 Best Art Exhibitions of 2011.
