Work of Art: The Next Great Artist premieres its second season tonight. Artists run the gamut from sculptors, painters, and even art toy designers. Returning from last season, judges include Bill Powers, Jerry Saltz, and host China Chow. Respected art figure Simon de Pury will once again act as a mentor to the contestants, giving them advice along the way. Noticeably absent from this season is former judge Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, who we assume is probably too busy running things at Salon94.

While we'd love to give you a full rundown on contestants, one of the primary reasons we'll be checking it out is for the talented female artists. And know you how we feel about female artists. We dug a little deeper to find out more about this season's contenders, so check out our gallery and Meet the Girls of Work of Art: The Next Great Artist, Season 2.
