Exhibition: The Life And Death of Buildings

Exhibition: The Life And Death of Buildings

Currently on view at the Princeton University Art Museum, The Life And Death Of Buildings considers how both buildings and photographs act as documents of public memory. While a building begins life as the "newest thing in town" and gradually becomes a relic of time, the photograph allows for a specific snap shot of place. Valuable in their own ways, the building and the photograph both relay messages about what people thought important during distinct stages of history.

Exhibition Runs: July 23 to November 6, 2011.

Princeton University Art Museum, Princeton, New Jersey.
