Portfolio Review: Tattoo Artist Mike Tuten Talks Us Through His Work

Tattooing has always had trouble with being considered a legitimate art form, and even now it's still considered lowbrow by many of the art elite. A lot of fine artists shy away from tattooing, but there are the exceptions. Tallahassee Florida’s Mike Tuten was trained in fine art and spent most of his youth focused on painting, a skill set Tuten then took to graffiti (to the dismay of those who considered it a downgrade). Then he took it a step further and began tattooing. That was 10 years ago. Mike Tuten has since become one of the top tattooers in Florida, while continuing to crush it in the fine arts.
