“I like to create portraits of people who influence my personal life. For this particular series, I did macabre people in literature. Anais Nin is a big personal hero of mine, she was one of the original erotic authors. She’s a strong feminist, but uses her femininity to gain power. I’ve read a lot of her works so I decided to paint her.”
