Whether you consider yourself a gamer or never play video games anymore, it's likely that you have 8-bit memories of gorillas throwing barrels, chomping pills and running from ghosts, and throwing tiger uppercuts in the street. Gallery1988 in Santa Monica, CA recently opened Multiplayer, a show that brings us back to the good old days before HD, featuring art inspired by the video games of yesteryear. The collection pays tribute to Centipede, Mario Kart, Space Invaders, Castlevania, Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., and others, and most of the prints are available for sale on the gallery site. The show is up through February 4th, 2011, so if you find yourself around Santa Monica swing by and check it out. Click the image bar above for photos from the show. [Gallery1988]
