Happy Birthday, Hubble Telescope! 20 Years of Space Photos


Admit it. You think the universe is sexy, don't you? And why wouldn't you? Especially an elegant universe you can look at, take pictures of, and occasionally stab with a commemorative flag (USA!). Thanks to the Hubble Telescope whose first photo transmission magically scientifically came to earth from the heavens cosmos on this day 20 years ago, we've shot space from every angle, depth, and not only was it pretty, the images actually helped resolve some of the most pressing questions confounding astronomers.     Cool pics. Would of been nice to see a progression of photos over the years. All these pics were from the last 3 years.

    I don't believe picture #21 is the Milky Way galaxy as seen from the Spitzer space telescope as advertised, That is unless someone suddenly transported the Spitzer a few thousand light years away, and our home turned into a barred spiral!
