In 2008, Public School was definitely in session. Founded by two veterans of Sean John—Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne—the new brand brought NYC cool back with a bang in its first year. Its rebellious Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2008 collections shook the Complex fashion world by mixing rugged outerwear influences with more refined cut & sew designs. And despite being a best-seller at Barney's, the brand managed to stay largely under the radar, so look for more big things in '09, when they'll introducing accessories into the fold, including a duffel bag to die for.
