Streetwear has of late become the art of storytelling, and brands like Stüssy and Neighborhood do an excellent job of carrying themes through their seasonal lines. For the Boneyards collection, dropping throughout this summer, these two brands are working together and taking inspiration from Boneyards Beach in San Pedro, California.
While the beach is a real spot, Paul Mittleman of Stüssy and Shinsuke Takizawa of Neighborhood took the rocky shore and grimy feel and imagined a dark surf vibe that they then turned into a full gangsta surf-rat line. The Nike Blazers are an extension of the clothing and accessories, and Stüssy chose the Jordan 1 color palette as a nod to skate culture’s adaptation of the brand in the ‘80s. Hang ten, homie.
