The world was a much different place in 1973. Back then, the New York Knicks were

NBA champs, and only one basketball player had a signature shoe. Knicks star Walt "Clyde" Frazier inadvertently started the athlete-branded sneaker phenomenon when Puma stamped his mug on the side of its already popular Puma Suede. More than 30 years later, Puma and Clyde teamed up again for a limited-edition of reissues at select stores in New York, London, and Tokyo. Now, the shoe that helped fuel hip-hop's obsession with kicks, and led to multimillion dollar signature shoe contracts for seemingly half the NBA's players is going into wider release, with more colorways coming to a store near you. Clyde showed up at several boutiques to celebrate the
re-launch, but don't expect to see him waiting in line to stock up on the new colorways. "I had a shoe fetish," the style icon tells Complex. "Luckily, I'm over all my cars and clothes. I'm just chilling right now."
