adidas x Evan Hecox Stan Smith Skate; $100, adidas.com/skateboarding
Before there were skate shoes, there was adidas. Sure, the 1980s Gazelles ripped after a few hours of skating, but without many choices, skateboarders went with what was cool and comfortable. After a couple trial runs, adidas is back in the game with a new line that is stronger than ever. It features classic silhouettes and materials that are both skateable and comfortable.
Peep the Evan Hecox collaboration on the skate version of the Stan Smith. Legit? Sure. If you have any more questions, just ask Mark Gonzales, official O.G. for the new adidas team.
With thicker tongues and geoFIT technology in the heel to prevent bruises, adidas's new shoes are both skate friendly and eye pleasing. It's not a one-run deal, either. Adidas Skateboarding will be cranking out shoes inspired by classics like the Superstar and the Stan Smith starting this summer and continuing into the fall. Earn your stripes.
