Creating a sneaker for a precision sport like archery is a challenge, because to an outsider, it seems like all these guys do is stand there and shoot the arrow. But it turns out there were lots of specific requests. When an archer makes his or her shot, they want a stable foothold, so Nike incorporated a super grippy outsole to help gain solid traction. A contoured footbed elevates the heel into an athletic shooting position, and there's also a power strap over the tongue to hold the foot securely in place.
