Olajuwon was never about the glamour or the glitz, so he signed on for a long-term sneaker deal with underdog-brand Spalding.  The high-tops he wore clocked in between $20-$35, and were the first signature b-ball shoe to debut at a bargain basement price.  So, if you were wondering, Starbury wasn’t the first to try and practically give kicks to the masses.
