At the age of 14, DJ Mo Beatz acquired his nickname from making beats
with his hands on the school lunchroom table as his peers would rap to
his creative melodies. Soon after, his love for music pulled him into
the world of DJing and he entered his first DJ battle, as this proved
to be the beginning of something grand. Considering the fact that his
native city of Detroit carries the tough standards of success in the
music industry, Mo Beatz combined his passion for music and DJ'ing
skills to take on the challenge. Influences by legends such as DJ
Q-Bert, DJ A-Track and Jazzy Jeff have helped mold Mo Beatz into the
successful DJ and individual he is today.
After breaking into the music industry, Mo Beatz began receiving
valuable knowledge and guidance and soon landed an internship with
FM98 WJLB, which led to a weekly mixer position with the popular
station. This spot shortly led to an array of opportunities, including
being the youngest DJ to attend the Power Summit in the Bahamas,
hosting and DJing official Adidas in-store events during All Star
Weekend in Las Vegas, guest spots on satellite radio/ shade 45, being
brought into the DJ coalition shadyville DJs, DJing overseas and
countless concerts and after-parties for some of music's biggest names
such as Lil' Wayne, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane and more.
Mo Beatz has learned the importance of not having limits. He has
expanded from DJ'ing clubs and events and gone on to host a number of
mix tapes which have been featured on thisis50.com amongst other
sites. Being extremely familiar with Hip Hop and R&B music, his
repertoire also extends to pop, electronic, techno, mash-ups and other
popular styles of music that guarantees to keep the attention of any
listener and please all crowds. In the current state of music,
originality and versatility are rarely displayed, yet these particular
elements define DJ Mo Beatz as one of the Midwest's premier DJs.
