WYCLEF JEAN
The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant
(Sony)

After several years on the low, international sound smuggler Wyclef returns with T.I, Lil Wayne, and Shakira ( a.k.a Colombian dope) to flood the U.S. with spicy multicultural jams that have a message: Border patrol deez!

KEY SONGS: “King and Queen,” “Welcome to the East,” “Slow Down”

Wyclef talks about working with T.I and Shakira
"You've got to put yourself in a position so people will listen. if I want to do a [political] song, I will see who's the voice that I like most, and I went to T.I. because he is the youth. It's really letting the generation speak for themselves, that's what I'm able to do on this CD. Kids are not stupid. Like Shakira introduced me to a new audience, T.I. also introduced me to another audience. We ended up doing seven records-three for his album, one for mine. T.I.'s a real dude."
