
Back in more innocent times, the three CEOs from Hova's Roc-A-Fella Records represented hope for the three-pronged hip-hop business model. Their unit was the perfect combination of personalities: the artistically talented face of the label (Jay), the take-no-shit negotiator (Dame) and the silent, behind-the-scenes advisor (Biggs). While the chemistry made the Roc one of Def Jam's biggest money makers for 8 years, Hova burned bridges with his two partners after his 2004 Presidential power grab, where Def Jam bought out their stakes in the company.
