Most musical trios have one clearly weak link—just ask Pras, Kris Novoselic and that asshole from ZZ Top who didn't grow a beard. But not the Beasie Boys, who burst on the rap and punk scenes in the ’80s, solidifying their reps as NYC's original downtown hopsters with Licenced To Ill. For the next 10 years, MCA, Mike D and Ad Rock's ever expanding musical scope influenced an entire generation. Since then, they've gotten really old and left their hard-partying days behind in favor of responsible political concerns and jazzy instrumental albums. Kind of lame, but it's nice to see a long-lasting marriage stay together even when the sex gets boring.
