Justin Timberlake is officially penetrating Hollywood (no slight to Cameron Diaz, pervert). With a slew of projects slated for release in '06, the 25-year-old is making a serious push for cinematic stardom. In the thriller Edison, he portrays a young journalist determined to expose police corruption opposite Academy Award winners Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman (and LL Cool J-two out of three ain't bad). Alpha Dog, Nick Cassavetes's highly anticipated crime drama based on the life of drug dealer Jesse James Hollywood, finds JT on the other side of the law. He also supports Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci in Black Snake Moan, Craig Brewer's follow-up to Hustle & Flow (2005), about an older black bluesman who "cures" a white nymphomaniac of her "disorder." Believe the buzz. Before long, the name Timberlake will bring to mind movie popcorn, not bleached blond popcorn curls.
