What’s your ’hood like?
Ben Gibbard: It’s really nice. There’s families on the block, kids playing in the street. I just mowed my yard yesterday.

What’s the worst ’hood you’ve been in?
Ben Gibbard: One time me and Mark from American Analog Set got lost in San Antonio and got really scared.

Word. Who do you have beef with?
Ben Gibbard: Yesterday I went into a Starbucks for a triple–tall Americano. It comes to $2.25, so I give the guy $5.25 and he gives me back $2. I’m like, “Hey man, you owe me a dollar.” And he’s like, “No.” It went on and on. I got the $3, but I hate that guy now.

Have you ever been shot?
Ben Gibbard: Um, no.

Vivica or Halle?
Ben Gibbard: I’m gonna go with Halle all the way.

What whips are you pushing these days?
Ben Gibbard: A 1992 gray Buick Regal that used to belong to my grandma that does not have either side mirror because I broke them off while trying to pull in the driveway while partially intoxicated.

Who’s your favorite video chick?
Ben Gibbard: Courteney Cox in Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark” video.

Is hip–hop dead?
Ben Gibbard: Not if Anticon has anything to say about it.
